
Running
The GCU Running Club provides an opportunity for students to get together with other like-minded students who are looking to reach their running goals. It is a great outlet to reduce stress and promote fitness while juggling the demands of studying and social life. No tryouts needed! No cuts! All are welcome to join! Training consists of two types of workouts: endurance and speed. GCU Running Club meets at the GCU track to work on speed interval training. Endurance is the focus on other days, varying from five to 10 miles based on individual skill level. Sundays are rest days for running club. With this training philosophy, we prefer athletes be a few seconds slower and healthy as opposed to risking an injury. We participate in local road race events varying from a 5K to a Marathon.
