I have always enjoyed learning new things. I decided to do a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training as a 60th birthday present to myself. Since then, I have learned so much about the benefits of a yogic lifestyle. I have also learned how much I have yet to learn! My teaching style is: Encouraging and inclusive suitable for everyone regardless of age or athletic ability. My favorite yoga pose is: Any hip opener like reclined pigeon. Yoga has helped me overcome my insecurities about physical fitness. I love my feet because: They take me places! My favorite goddess is: Saraswati, known for truth and sincerity, because that is the only thing that really matters. My favorite healthy snack is: Salted edamame. My favorite Sanskrit word is: Satya because it guides us to think, speak and act with integrity. My advice for beginning yogis is: Focus on your practice with self-love, patience and consistency. I am most grateful for: My health and my support network of family and friends. The most exotic place I’ve practiced yoga is: Palm Springs, CA. If I could practice yoga with anyone it would be Gandhi: So I might learn understand more about his philosophy on yoga and life. I’m excited to take my yoga to the next level: Because of what I will learn through teaching. My heroes are: My grandmothers who kept us every summer in North Dakota and taught us many important life lessons. My one wish for the world is: Peace.
