Rebecca arrived in Boston the Autumn of 2021 from Westchester County, NY. She began her training at BodyWise Studio, NY in 2011 as a client of master trainer and studio owner, Joy Puleo. She first met Joy through the non-for-profit, Body Wise Connection which offered free Pilates to breast cancer patients during and after treatments. Pilates was integral in helping her recover, build strength and confidence back in her own body after surgeries and treatment for cancer. She was inspired through her work with Joy to continue practicing Pilates at the highest level and become a comprehensive instructor. Rebecca went on to complete her comprehensive Pilates certification under Balanced Body University. She took over Joy’s studio in 2013 before opening her own studio, Forward Movement Pilates in 2015. While she closed the studio doors in June 2020, she has continued to work with clients virtually and is now looking forward to expanding her practice in Boston. Rebecca brings with her a background in competitive cross country and endurance mountain bike racing and coaching mountain biking at the high school level. She has always been passionate about fitness and has a love for studying the balance of health and nutrition. If she is not in the Pilates studio or out on her bike, you can find her running and hiking her local trails. Her athletic background, coupled with the academic and hands-on curriculum of the Balanced Body University, provides her useful insight for the needs of all types of clients. She enjoys working with both men and women clients of varying fitness levels and ages from post rehab; to clients looking to improve their everyday strength and flexibility and athletes looking to improve performance. Rebecca continues her studies through hands-on and virtual workshops to keep up on all the new research and training techniques. Rebecca is still very much involved with Body Wise Connection. This enables her to stay connected to other cancer patients; work with other studios and teachers to help share the gift that she was able to receive thru Pilates.
