In 2002 I began dabbling in yoga as an addition to my dance training in high school. At the time, it was purely a workout and a way to gain more flexibility. Through the years, my relationship with yoga waxed and waned. I was always fascinated by the philosophy behind yoga, but a regular practice and a commitment to my health was not a top priority for quite a while. Until one day my body commanded that I take control of my health, and that led me to the wonderful, ancient teachings of Ayurveda. It has been through my studies in Ayurveda that a deep love and passion for yoga was rekindled. In 2020, I joined Shakti School, a year-long “Feminine Form” Ayurvedic Wellness Coach Certification Program. Shortly after I began also diving into Kundalini yoga and instantly became hooked. Both Ayurveda and Kundalini yoga have been monumental in my healing journey and in building a personal practice that helps keep me sane as a mother of two boys and as a middle school teacher! I knew this was something I needed to share with my spouse, my children, my students, and my community as a whole! In 2022, with the support of my wonderful family and friends, I took the plunge to become a yoga teacher and completed my RYT 200 through Renegade Yoga Center under Philip Clift, E-RYT 500 YACEP, and Kachelle Steigerwald, E-RYT 500. Through my journey of becoming an Ayurvedic Wellness Coach and a yoga teacher I have found that my Sankalpa, or my deepest heart’s intention, is to be a conduit of alchemy, guiding and inspiring others to rediscover their Divine Nature. It is now my honor to teach Kundalini yoga and Ayurvedic principles to my middle school students at Guiding Lights Hybrid Homeschool and at my early morning Kundalini Sadhana class at RYC.
