Hot Yoga

Mon Mar 24 | 1:00 PM UTC | 75 min

Hot yoga (also known as Bikram or Hatha) is a 75-90 minute class where students of every experience level build strength, balance and flexibility while completing a sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. It's a good class for beginners since each class is the same sequence and each posture is done twice. This challenging workout takes place in a heated room to encourage an increased range of motion in muscles, joints and ligaments. We try to keep the temperature at around 105 degrees, though there will be some variations based on factors beyond our control such as outside temperature and the number of people in the class. The set series of compressions and extensions help: Release of toxins through the skin, the body’s largest organ. Tone and strengthen muscle systems. Build willpower, concentration and determination. Focus the mind. Wear what you are comfortable in- Snug fitting clothes work best. Bring a yoga mat, large bath towel or yoga towel and a bottle of water. If you don't have a mat and/or towel, you may rent one at the studio. Please show up on time (at least 5 minutes before the class starts). If you are new to the studio, please show up about 10-15 minutes before the class start time so you can get settled and we can register you for the class, if you haven't already.
