This is the perfect way to try dragon boating or continue recreational paddling. No experience necessary. Participate in a welcoming team environment. A creative way to connect with family, friends and new people. Opportunities to participate in other dragon boat-related events regionally will be available to those who are interested. Practices are held every Tuesday beginning June 2 through July 21 from 5:40 PM – 7:00 PM (8 practices) Cost: $110 per paddler (this does not include the fee for the Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival race) All instruction and equipment is provided

Riverfront Recapture is a nonprofit organization founded in 1981. We manage, maintain, and operate four riverfront parks and their connected riverwalks and trails. Our mission is to connect people to the Connecticut River, and we do just that, year-round, in our clean and safe parks.



Our Community Rowing Program is one of the largest and most successful programs in New England. Recreational and competitive classes, including the opportunity to compete on nationally recognized racing teams, are offered to everyone from pre-teens to retirees.



The Rowing Program has operated since 2002 out of the Boathouse in Hartford’s historic Riverside Park on the Connecticut River.
